What To Do With ALL That Halloween Candy

So it's November 1st and if you're a parent who let's their child/children trick or treat, you now have a bag, pillowcase, box or something else in your home FILLED with candy. The question now is, what do you do with all that candy?

My advice: DON'T EAT IT!!

Candy is sugar and sugar is a no-no for so many reasons. It promotes tooth decays, elevates our blood sugar and can be a cause of weight gain. That is only a few of the numerous reasons that sugar should be avoided.

Now what do we do with all this candy. First off, if candy is bad for your body, don't be fooled into thinking it's okay for your kids, it's not.

I personally let my kids choose 10 pieces out of their stash to keep and they eat those 10 pieces over the course of 2-3 months. It's a treat in our house, not a regular food (I use the word "food" loosely here) item that is kept in our pantry.

The rest is either thrown out or given to local dentist office where they trade candy for money.

Here are a few ideas of what to do with all that Halloween candy:

~Throw it out

~Give to a local participating dentist for cash

~Throw it out (oh wait I used that one already)

Ultimately it's a choice you make on whether or not to keep candy in your home, but if you were one of my clients it wouldn't be an option if your goals were good health or weight loss.

Remember to set your November health goals, write them down, get an accountability partner and start working towards them!!

Happy Monday!
